Egyptian Student Association at UBC
Responsibilities: Graphic Design, Brand Design, Social Media Management, Digital Marketing, Copywriting
It all started when my 2 Egyptian friends called and asked if I would want to join and help them with “making their Instagram look nice” for an Egyptian students’ association they were thinking of forming at UBC. Not taking it seriously, I agreed. A year later, upon the official formation of the club, we have established a known presence as a recognized organization on campus - one that is collaborative, communal, and, in my opinion, very positively reminding of home.
Colors, logos, and aesthetics
Brand Content
Designed the initial logos of the ESA during its founding period.
Curated a brand design, including a colour palette, specific fonts, and themes - one that pays tribute to both modern Egyptian as well as ancient Egyptian periods.
Social Media
ESA’s presence became mainly recognized on Instagram (@esa__ubc). By starting our following there, we were able to connect with various sponsors over the year, collaborate easily with other organizations, and connect with other people/members. We expanded our social media to include Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn - all of which I directly managed for a bit over a year.
